About Mrs.  McDowell

I graduated from Wittenberg University in 2003 where I studied Biology and Spanish.  I began my career working as a Research Assistant in the College of Veterinary Medicine at The Ohio State University.  For six years I worked in an Immunology/ Microbiology laboratory. I primarily worked with feline (cat) diseases and how they interact with humans.  It was there, at OSU, that I discovered my calling to teach.  As a result, I attended Ashland University where I became a certified science teacher, bringing me to Westfall in 2012.

I reside in Columbus and am married to my husband Paul.  Together we have a daughter, Elle, who was born in May, 2013.

I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, staying healthy and  running.
